This year's El Niño is officially over

- This year’s El Niño once named “Godzilla” is officially over, according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.

This 15-month event gave us the warmest ocean temperatures on record. El Niño was supposed to be a force this year for us here in Southern California. It did bring strong rain and snow to Northern California, but did little for us here in Southern California. It did not help California’s 4-year drought. The attention now turns to La Niña which could bring drier than average conditions.
