Legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold on today's explosion of EDM

Paul Oakenfold is a legendary trance DJ and record producer who has been voted the #1 DJ several times, according to DJ Magazine.

His musical career began in the late '70s and began breaking into the mainstream in the mid '80s. He became a promoter and agent for the Beastie Boys and Run D.M.C.

He's also known for building the dance scene at Ibiza--an island in the Mediterranean Sea known for its clubs and nightlife.

Oakenfold started his own record label, Perfecto, and has toured with U2, Madonna, and Cher. Some of his famous songs include, "Starry Eyed Surprise," "Ready Steady Go," and "Faster Kill Pussycat" which featured actress Brittany Murphy's vocals.

He is the co-founder of a DJ Camp which takes place in Hollywood at the Los Angeles Recording School. The camp includes five days of hands-on instruction from industry experts plus a chance to open for him on a US tour date.
