A new app offers an eco-friendly waterless car wash on demand. It's the braindchild of Chad Zani who recently moved to the South Bay from Australia. Here he started his company Envi, a car detailing business that doesn't use any water, has no runoff, reduces damage to your pain tjob and uses no harsh chemicals.
"Our solution is made in LA, it's not made in China and it's basically Canuba wax and Kaolin clay, the same ingredients in makeup," says Zani.
The solution acts like a wash and a wax and because he uses only microfiber towels, there's no scratching or damage to the paint.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, Envi also employs the deaf, who can easily use the app through messaging.
"When I heard 80 percent of the deaf community was on welfare, just because they can't hear, I realized this is a huge community that really want to work and they love it."
The app is available on your smartphone and once signed on, just type in the location your car is parked and the Envi team shows up, cleans it and you never have to wait on line at the car wash or worry about wasting water.
Right now an Envi "wash" is $30 a car.
"But you get a $100 service, says Zani.
