LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Professional athletes like Floyd Mayweather, Kobe Bryant and Reggie Bush are all big fans of Cryo-saunas: A new age version of the ice bath.
"Their training schedule is so demanding, they need to be able to jump back into things immediately so if you can reduce swelling and get them back on the field and into training, that's their job that's how they make their money, " says Dr. Billy Greineisen of unbreakable performance in West Hollywood.

But more and more "unathletic" folks are paying big bucks to get the same benefits. Besides muscle recovery--- Cryotherapy claims to boost your immune system, smooth way wrinkles, melt away fat and get your crush to text you back?
"We need to make sure you don't have a heart condition because there is shunting of blood from one place to another, " Greineisen said. Once we signed our life away ... We suited up in socks and wool gloves.
"It works down to negative 250 degrees powered by liquid nitrogen. It's basically a vapor that circulates around your body to mainly reduce inflammation and make you very cold," Griensen added. "It's supposed to burn about 900 calories when your body has to recover from being that cold everything has to come back online.
Once you leave you're going to feel very tingly when the blood starts coming back to your skin you'll feel different. The surface of your skin gets to negative 10 degrees you'll feel it on your legs."
After only a minute and a half each--- we felt a euphoric rush of endorphins as our bodies thawed out. We were re-invigorated and energized...
But at $60 to $90 a session, you may need a pro-athlete's salary to make a sub-zero sauna part of your routine.
