YouTube Star Tyler Oakley Looking To Raise $500K For Suicide Prevention

(FOX 11) YouTube king Tyler Oakley stopped by Studio 11 LA Thursday to talk about something else he's passionate about: The Trevor Project.

The national organization provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to young people in the LGBTQ community. Oakley, who interned for the Trevor Project in 2010, is celebrating his upcoming birthday by raising $500,000 for the cause.

Since his first YouTube video in 2007 as a freshmen at Michigan State University, he has garnered more than 290 million views and 5.8 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
