Woman Stabbed To Death, Man Hospitalized In Domestic Violence Case

The crime was reported near Kester Avenue and Lemay Street about 7:50a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado. The woman died at the scene, and the man was taken to a hospital fortreatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Preciado said.
The woman's name was withheld pending family notification. A child atthe scene was not injured, contrary to a preliminary report, Preciado said. Officers went to the location in response to a report of an assault witha deadly weapon, possibly a knife, Preciado said.
The assault may have been a case of domestic violence, she said.
