Woman Fatally Shot In Parking Lot Of Torrance Bowling Alley

TORRANCE (CNS/FOX 11) - A woman in her mid-20s was fatally shot in the parking lot of a bowling alley in Torrance early Saturday and three men considered persons of interest were detained nearby and arrested for unrelated alleged offenses, police said.

The shooting occurred outside the Gable House Bowl, in the 22500 block of Hawthorne Blvd. at 12:45 a.m., Torrance Police Lt. David Petersen said.

The woman, who was taken to a hospital and had been undergoing surgery, died this morning, according to Torrance police.

An officer nearby responded to the scene and stopped a vehicle containing as it left the car park, Peterson said.

The three men inside, all in their early to mid-20s, are considered persons of interest in the shooting, said Torrance police spokesman Sgt. Paul Kranke.

Two had outstanding arrest warrants, according to Kranke. The suspected offense for which the third was arrested was not immediately available.

Detectives were trying to learn what prompted the shooting, Kranke said.
