VIDEO: Sail Boat Capsizes During Race In Dramatic Fashion

(FOX 11) A boat taking part in a sailing event over the weekend in Hamburg, Germany capsized in a dramatic fashion, Reuters reports.

It happened July 25 to the SAP Extreme Sailing Team from Denmark during a nine-boat race. According to the International Sailing Federation, the thunderstorms blowing over the waterfront caught the Danish team in a huge gust midway on the final downwind leg, resulting in a capsize in front of the crowds.

"It was a scary moment. We were trying to de-power for the massive gust on the downwind to the finish line but we didn't manage to; the bow went down, the rudder came out of the water and I lost control of the boat and we flipped over," skipper Jes Gram-Hansen to sailing.org.

No one was injured during the incident, and the crew came back on Sunday to finish third overall.
