Small Plane Crashes Into Fence At Long Beach Airport

(FOX 11) A small plane crashed into a fence Thursday night at the Long Beach Airport, slightly injuring the pilot.

The crash was reported just after 9 p.m. and did not affect airport operations, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

A videographer at the scene told City News Service the male pilot of the plane walked away from the crash, but was taken to a hospital.

The plane struck the fence on the Lakewood Boulevard side of the airport.

Drivers were advised to avoid southbound Lakewood Boulevard from Carson Street and northbound Lakewood from Spring Street.
