Singer-Songwriter Carly Ritter On New Album Inspired By Grandfather Tex Ritter

(FOX 11) Carly Ritter just completed a new album of old cowboy, country and western swing music, partly inspired by her country singing grandfather Tex Ritter.

The California native said it's the kind of music her grandfather and his peers sang, so it was very special to her on a personal level. On a wider scale, the album is an ode to the American West, its legend and landscape.

Ritter said she hopes to release the new album before the end of the year and will be playing with the full band in Nashville on Sept. 17 during the Americana Music Festival.
