Working Dog Injured in Afghanistan Receives Purple Heart

Los Angeles, CA (FOX11) - This photo of a military working dog, injured during operations in Afghanistan is going viral! SPC Brown and his working dog Rocky are both recovering after being treated for injuries they suffered from an IED blast earlier this week while searching a structure.

As you can see in the photo, Rocky was awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining injuries in ongoing operations in Afghanistan. SPC Brown, a husband and father, was awarded a Purple Heart as well.

As of the time of this posting, the image of Rocky wearing his Purple Heart has received over 100,000 likes and 135,472 shares. There are almost 11,000 comments on the Facebook photo, wishing working dog and handler a speedy recovery.
