Students surprise teacher with his first birthday cake in 10 years

(FOX News) - After a Texas high school teacher told his students he couldn't remember the last time he had a birthday cake, they decided to throw him a surprise party!

A touching video posted to Twitter shows the students in Mr. Kyle Simpler's English class at Burleson High School ensuring that their favorite teacher's 56th birthday was memorable one.

The video shows Simpler walk into the decorated classroom, followed by the students breaking out into applause and a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday."

The clearly overwhelmed teacher wipes away tears and says, "Thank you," as students give him gifts and cards.
