Stray pit bull that saved woman now looking for forever home

A stray pit bull has been given the appropriate name, "Hero," after being credited with saving a woman's life.

According to a You Caring page set up for the dog, Hero saved a woman from a male attacker in Baldwin, Georgia and was stabbed multiple times in the process.

Responding police officers took the pit bull to the vet and gave him the name Hero. Then a pit bull rescue group called Fighting for the Bullys stepped in to bring Hero to Tennessee where he is now up for adoption.

Carla Welch of Fighting for the Bullys told The Dodo, "This dog was meant to live. He is amazing. The poor thing has had a hellish life. His life has changed from yesterday on."
