Quarter with miniscule mistake could be worth thousands

A rare defect is making some quarters from 1970 worth considerably more than their face value.

The mistake happened when some of the proof quarters from that year were printed over 1941 Canadian quarters.

The effected quarters have a very tiny misprint that is difficult to see without magnification. '1941' appears just above the word 'dollar' on one side of the coin, and there is faint lettering visible on the front of the coin.

At least one of the rare quarters is for sale on eBay and is going for $35,000.

The listing read, 'this is one of the most fascinating and intriguing proof mint errors ever discovered.'

It's not clear how many quarters have this defect, but check your purses and pockets just in case it's your lucky year.
