Doctor delivers baby on flight from Taiwan to LA

Imagine you're flying back to Los Angeles from Bali, when your flight has to make an emergency landing in Alaska.

A Taiwanese woman on board the flight unexpectedly gave birth to a baby girl.

The pregnant woman's water had broken six hours into the 19-hour flight across the Pacific Ocean. Flight attendants asked if there was a doctor on board when Angelica Zen - a resident physician from UCLA and her husband were on their way back from their honeymoon vacation in Bali, Indonesia.

Crew members immediately requested assistance from Dr. Zen, who had never given birth to a baby...but immediately stepped up to perform the delivery.

The plane then diverted to Anchorage, Alaska where further assistance was given from the ground crews.

Dr. Zen reported that she was pleased the baby was born looking very healthy.
