Child with double hand transplant aims high in sports

He's overcome some incredible odds...now, the first child to receive a double hand transplant has a new goal. He wants to play football!

Nine-year old Zion Harvey and his mom talked to reporters yesterday at children's hospital of Philadelphia.

The boy lost his hands and both feet to a bacterial infection when he was just two-years old.

Last year, Zion became the first child to receive a double hand transplant. The operation lasted 10-hours and involved a team of 40-doctors.

Zion's progress has been amazing. He can write…dress himself, and even throw a baseball.
Now he wants to play football.

His mom...though....is not too thrilled about that.

Zion has worked hard on building his strength and dexterity, while developing brain-hand connections that had not been used for six years of his life.

Doctors say Zion's recovery has been nothing less than miraculous.
