Red Cross showers dozens of expecting women veterans

ATLANTA - The Red Cross of Atlanta Tiffany Circle is partnering with the Atlanta VA Medical Center Women's Wellness Program that hosted a baby shower for more than 60 expecting women veterans from the metro Atlanta area on Saturday.

"Atlanta has one of the largest military populations in the United States, ranking 5th, and is also home to the largest number of pregnant veterans," said Women's Wellness Program Manager, Dr. Tasha Felton Williams.

This event provided the unique opportunity for the Red Cross and the Atlanta VA Medical center to collaborate, in honoring military mothers to be and let them know we appreciate the sacrifices they have made for our country.

Expecting mothers were served lunch as they were presented with essentials to prepare a safe and healthy start for their baby's arrival. Gifts donated by generous sponsors include: Red Cross safety kits, car seats, strollers, diapers, diaper bags and much more!
