PASADENA (CNS/FOX 11) - Police were trying to track down suspects who assaulted and robbed an 87-year-old man on a morning walk in Pasadena, leaving the victim with serious head trauma.

The attack and robbery happened just after 5 a.m. Friday near the Rose Bowl on West Drive, north of Salvia Canyon Road, said Pasadena police Lt. Terysa Rojas.

"Other pedestrians exercising in the area found the victim laying on the ground and called 911,'' Rojas said. "The victim sustained major head trauma and remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.''

The suspects took money and the man's identification and credit cards, Rojas said.
