Pedestrian Dies From Injuries In University Park Hit-And-Run

(FOX 11 / CNS) A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the University Park neighborhood, police said today.

The 58-year-old man was in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of West 23rd and Portland Streets when he was struck around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday by a vehicle likely traveling at high speed, said Los Angeles police Sgt. A. Mendoza. He died at a hospital, he said.

Mendoza described the hit-and-run vehicle as a black sedan with substantial front-end damage, possibly including the windshield.
