Mother Of Two Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Bellflower

BELLFLOWER (CNS/FOX 11) - A woman struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist in Bellflower was identified in news reports Sunday as 30-year-old mother of two Makeda More.

She was crossing the street westbound at Los Angeles Street and Lakewood Boulevard when a dark-colored Nissan struck her just before 9:45 p.m. Saturday, said Det. Christopher Bronowicki of the sheriff's Lakewood station.

The motorist left the scene, driving south on Lakewood Boulevard and out of view, Bronowicki said.

Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, he said.

Her name has not been released by authorities but she was identified in several broadcast reports.

The Nissan sustained substantial collision damage to the front bumper and windshield.
