The single-vehicle crash was reported at about 10 a.m. on Hawthorne Boulevard near Rosecrans Avenue, Hawthorne police Sgt. Scott Nichols said. The driver died at the scene.
The gender and age of the victim, believed to have been alone in the vehicle, were not immediately known, Nichols said.
Hawthorne Boulevard was expected to be closed between Rosecrans Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard into the afternoon while an investigation was conducted.
