Man with head injuries found dead at Russian Consulate

A 63-year-old man was found dead at the Russian Consulate in Manhattan Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.

Police responded to a 911 call at about 6:56 a.m. at 9 East 91st Street when they found the man unconscious and unresponsive inside the consulate. The victim had suffered trauma to his head.

EMS also responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. A police investigation is underway.

The man was described as a security officer. The victim's identity has not been revealed pending family notification.

The consulate had not released a statement on the incident.
