Cameron Hanson, 29, of Valencia was arrested around 4:15 a.m. near the scene of the crime, which occurred in the 700 block of Roselli Street, the Burbank Police Department reported.
Hanson was expected to be booked on suspicion of attempted murder, said Burbank police Officer Cindy Guillen.
The attack about 11 p.m. Tuesday left three women injured, police said.
Two were stabbed and one was assaulted; three are hospitalized in critical but stable condition, police said.
Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick told FOX 11 that the victims were ages 67, 41, and 21, and one of them apparently "knew who he (the suspect) was."
Hanson was arrested when he returned to the neighborhood, possibly to retrieve his vehicle, Kendrick said. No other suspects were being sought, he said.

A stabbing in Burbank leaves three women in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police responded to a house in the 700 block of Roselli street in Burbank at around 11pm Tuesday night. They found two women with stab wounds and one other assaulted. The women ages 67, 41, and 21 are somehow related but police did not know the exact relation.
The search for the suspect ensued for several hours, then at 4am Wednesday morning police apprehended the suspect who was on foot in the area.
Officer Joshua Kendrick says "we don't know if he was hiding then came back to get his car."
They arrested 29-year old Cameron Hanson of Santa Clarita who knew one of the victims.
Police say they have not determined a motive.Copyright 2015 FOX 11 Los Angeles | Download our mobile app for breaking news alerts | Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
