YouTube shooter's dad speaks publicly for the first time

- The family of Nasim Aghdam appear confused by the shooting rampage and are trying to come to terms with it.

"She didn't hurt one animal...one ant," said Ismail Aghdam, the father of YouTube shooter Nasim Aghdam.

"I am sorry. I can't believe it," he told reporters Wednesday.

For nearly eight hours Wednesday, ATF agents searched Aghdam's family Menifee home and the home in San Diego where Aghdam lived with her 90-year-old grandma.

Meanwhile loved ones consoling the family poured in and out - many confused by Tuesday's San Bruno shooting rampage.

Aghdam's brother told FOX 11 exclusively her grudge against YouTube likely motivated her shooting three company employee and taking her own life.

He says the family reported her missing Sunday.

When Mountain View Police later told the family they found her sleeping in her car, the brother says he warned them.

"She had a problem with YouTube so we called the cop again and said there's a reason she went all the way to San Diego from that. I didn't know she had a gun I thought she'd start a fight or something," said her brother.

It doesn't appear that message was relayed to San Bruno police:

"This was our first encounter and first awareness with the subject after we arrived on scene we had no prior contacts or knowledge," said their police chief.

Aghdam posted about animal rights and veganism but she expressed frustration with YouTube allegedly demonetizing those videos.

No explanation makes sense to the family

On Wednesday, they wrote:

"Our family is in absolute shock and can't make sense of what has happened yesterday. Although no words can describe our deep pain for this tragedy, our family would like to express their utmost regret, sorrow for what has happened to innocent victims"

Police say today Aghdam went to a local gun range yesterday morning before going to YouTube.

Today would have been her 39th birthday.

The family says may it have something to do with the timing of the shooting.
