Woman struck, killed by Metrolink train in Glendale

A woman who witnesses said appeared to act intentionally was fatally struck tonight by a Metrolink train in Glendale.

The unidentified woman, who investigators said they believe was in her late 40s or possibly her 50s, was struck about 8 p.m. by a northbound train in the area of San Fernando Road and Doran Street, Glendale police Sgt. Robert
William said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The train, which stopped after the woman was struck, was carrying passengers but no one aboard was injured, William said.

Witnesses said the woman appeared to get in front of the train intentionally, according to William.
