VIDEO: 62-year old woman attacked, robbed by two men in Long Beach

Long Beach police on Wednesday sought public help to find two men who attacked and robbed a 62-year-old woman as she walked on a city street.

The crime occurred about 9:40 p.m. on May 10 near Ninth Street and Linden Avenue, police said.

"The victim was walking in the area ... when two suspects approached her from behind,'' a police statement said.

One of the suspects punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the pavement.

"Once the victim was on the pavement, one of the suspects started dragging her several feet,'' police continued.

"During the assault, one of the suspects took her cell phone. Both suspects immediately ran from the area.''

Police released security video of the woman and the men. The suspects were described as 20-25 years of age, 5-feet-8 inches to 6-feet tall, weighing 160 pounds with dark complexions.

The woman was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective J.J. Johnson at (562) 570-5731, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
