Two women arrested for trying to steal baby formula from Target stores in Riverside

Two women were arrested after police say they were caught trying to steal baby formula from Target stores in Riverside and Hemet on Wednesday.
The women were leaving the Target at 2755 Canyon Springs Parkway in Riverside when they were spotted trying to steal about $1,000 worth of baby formula around 7:40 p.m., Riverside police said in a news release.
As loss-prevention officers were trying to detain them, one of the suspects sprayed the officers with pepper spray and the two escaped. A woman and her 2-year-old child also were sprayed, the release said.
The toddler was hospitalized and then released to a family member.
Then, later in the evening, Riverside police officers learned the same two women were stopped and detained in Hemet "for the exact same thing," the release said.
Target's loss-prevention department told officers the same two women hit a total of four stores before they were caught in Hemet, each time stealing baby formula.
Riverside police officers drove to Hemet and brought the suspects back to the Robert Presley Detention Center.
Alyssa Priscilla Luces, 20, of Rialto  who police say pepper-sprayed the toddler  was arrested on suspicion of four felonies and six misdemeanors, including conspiracy to commit a felony, possessing tear gas, willful harm to a child, impersonating and a handful of misdemeanors. Her bail was set at $100,000.
Chanel Walker, 29, of San Bernardino, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a felony, second-degree burglary and child endangerment. Her bail was set at $35,000.
