Two separate wrong-way crashes kill 4 on L.A. freeways

- It was dangerous on two freeways overnight where drivers crashed into cars that were driving the wrong way. 

The first one in Porter Ranch left two drivers dead and a passengers injured.

The second one in Baldwin Park also left two drivers dead and a passenger injured.

Around 12:24 a.m. CHP West Valley officers were informed about a driver traveling westbound on the eastbound side of the 118 near Porter Ranch.

They found that a 2014 Toyota driving west in the carpool lane crashed head-on with a 2003 Lexus. Both drivers died, a passenger in the Lexus was taken to the hospital. 

It is unknown why the driver, who has not been identified, was driving the wrong in the wrong direction.

In Baldwin Park around 12:30 a.m. CHP says a 2002 Honda Odyssey entered the I-605 southbound freeway from the Ramona Boulevard off ramp, but was traveling northbound. The car collided with a 2013 Dodge Challenger traveling the correct way.

Both drivers died. A passenger in the Dodge was taken to the hospital.

CHP says alcohol or drugs are suspected to have played a role in this accident.
