'Trump Not Welcomed' in West Hollywood

In case you were wondering West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey Horvath says she has no plans to vote for Donald Trump in the June 7th California Primary. In fact, he doesn't even want him in West Hollywood.

Says the Mayor, "Mr. Trump is not welcomed. His tactics. His hate speech." She told him so in a letter sent to the New York billionaire in March. Her dislike for Trump's politics has generated nationwide news, but now she's about to see some resistance in her own backyard.

Jake Lee, who says he's lived in West Hollywood his whole life, is upset with Horvath. It just so happens Lee is a Trump supporter and her anti-Trump rhetoric has rubbed him the wrong way. She calls Trump's words hateful and divisive which is why she doesn't want him speaking here.

Lee says, "West Hollywood is still in the United States of America and we have free speech."

Says Horvath, "This isn't about free speech. This is about hate speech."

"I've listened to a lot of what Trump says," says Lee, "...and I don't consider it to be hate speech."

Horvath cites Trump's comments about Muslims, walls, Mexicans and women hateful.

"And, in my view," she says, he's made "disgusting gestures mimicking and mocking the disabled community." She doesn't want any of that or someone taking a punch at another person as happened at a Trump rally.

Lee calls Horvath "a dictator." The Mayor says, "I'm not a dictator. I'm not dictating anything I'm simply expressing my personal views and the views of people who have commented to me about Mr. Trump, his tactics… his language."

Lee's anti-mayor/pro-Trump rally will be held Thursday night at the Sheriffs Station between 6pm and 7pm in West Hollywood.
