Tractor-trailers on fire in Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Calif. (FOX 11/CNS) - Two tractor-trailer big rigs were on fire Tuesday night in Westminster.

The Orange County Fire Authority received reports of a big rig fire at 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a vehicle storage area in the 7000 block of Garden Grove Boulevard, according to Capt. Larry Kurtz.

Responding crews found one well-involved tractor trailer rig in a parking lot of about 40 trucks, Kurtz said. The fire spread to a second rig but firefighters were able to achieve knockdown in about 15 minutes, he said.

No one was injured and an investigation team was on its way to the scene to determine a cause, Kurtz said.

A hazmat team also was en route because Kurtz said there was some fuel on the ground.
