Top Candidates for California Governor Hold Only Debate Today

The debate at 10 am will not be televised but is offered to radio stations statewide for broadcast. You can listen at KQED Governors Debate.

This is likely to be the only debate between the contenders. They spent months discussing and rejecting various venues and times.

As of today, Democrat Newsom holds a substantial but shrinking lead over Republican Cox.

A recent poll by the Public Policy Institute of California showed Newsom with 51 percent and Cox at 39 percent with 7 percent undecided.
