Tense moments after burglary suspect runs into medical building near Cedars-Sinai

A burglary suspect was taken into police custody Wednesday evening after running into a medical building near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center while fleeing officers.

Los Angeles police used the building's public address system to order the suspect to surrender as officers conducted a floor-by-floor search.

At about 7:15 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody. Police say he broke into an attached garage of a home around 3:50 p.m. and then fled from responding officers. A second person reportedly involved in the break-in was taken into custody earlier in the day.

The building where the incident took place is located in the 400 block of S. San Vicente Boulevard and is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center but is not located at the main hospital campus.
