SWAT team called to Beverly Hills hotel in apparent 'swatting' incident

- Police were called to the Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel on Santa Monica Boulevard Thursday morning in what turned out to be a bogus emergency call, according to Beverly Hills police.

Police were called around 6:30 Thursday morning by a man who said he was being held hostage by men with guns. SWAT was called in and then said they had a hard time getting ahold of the initial caller.

Part of the hotel was evacuated, and then the SWAT team got in touch with the people in the room and it turns out it was hoax, according to police. They say the call went out just to get a police response.

No injuries were reported and it is not yet clear if any one is facing any charges.
