Suspect wounded when fugitive task force arrested him in Pasadena

(FOX 11/CNS) - A man wanted on a fugitive warrant was shot and wounded by an officer in a multi-agency task force that tracked him to a Pasadena office building.

The shooting was reported at 5:05 p.m. on Holly Street near Fair Oaks Avenue, Glendale Police Department Sgt. Dan Suttles said.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located the suspect inside a car and boxed it in with the officers' vehicles, Suttles said.

"An officer-involved shooting occurred and the suspect was struck in the upper thigh," Suttles said.

The suspect got out of his car and ran into a nearby parking structure, followed by officers, Suttles said.

He ran upstairs to the third floor and persuaded a good Samaritan to give him a ride.

The Samaritan saw the officers near the parking structure's exit and "decided to abandon his vehicle," Suttles said.

That is when the suspect surrendered to officers and was taken to a hospital for treatment of his wound, Suttles said.

No civilians or officers were injured, Suttles said.
