Suspect dies in Hollywood officer-involved shooting; video captures gunfire

An armed suspect was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Hollywood, police said Friday.

Officers responded to 7245 Hillside Ave. around 11 p.m. Thursday regarding a dispute between two roommates, one of whom was armed with a revolver, according to reports from the scene.

Officers responded to the fourth floor apartment where the suspect armed himself with a revolver, prompting officers to open fire, according to police, but it wasn't immediately clear if the suspect was struck by gunfire in that shooting.

A second officer-involved shooting occurred when the suspect appeared on the apartment's balcony and possibly opened fire on officers.

The suspect was given several commands to drop his weapon before multiple officers opened fire, authorities said.

He was killed in that second shooting, according to reports from the scene. Video showed the walls and windows of the apartment covered with bullet holes. The revolver was recovered at the scene, police told FOX 11.

The suspect was believed to be in his mid-20s, police said.

No officers were injured in the incident.
