Suspect and vehicle identified in incident involving attempted abduction

The Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station wishes to thank the public for the tips provided that led to the identification of the vehicle and suspect who was involved in an incident reported this morning.

The vehicle and suspect have been identified, and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Detectives are actively investigating the incident.

The incident earlier reported a female 9th grade student that was walking to school in the Soledad Canyon Road/ Shangri-La Drive area of Canyon Country when she was approached by a man driving a dark green Audi convertible who slowed down and shouted for her to, "Get in the car." The student started yelling at him, creating a commotion which caused the suspect to drive off.

As the vehicle fled, the quick-thinking teenager took her cell phone out and began recording the vehicle.

A local high school student took a courageous stand to an unknown man who attempted to get her in his car when she was walking to school this morning.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., the female 9th grade student was walking to school in the Soledad Canyon Road/ Shangri-La Drive area of Canyon Country when she was approached by a man driving a dark green Audi convertible who slowed down and shouted for her to, "Get in the car." The student started yelling at him, creating a commotion which caused the suspect to drive off.
As the vehicle fled, the quick-thinking teenager took her cell phone out and began recording the vehicle. Attached is a picture of the vehicle.

The driver, described as a white male adult (30-40 years old) with reddish brown hair, is wanted for questioning by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Detectives.
