Suspect accused of groping female Uber driver during ride from Studio City to Glendale

A man is facing charges for allegedly groping a 23-year-old female Uber rider who was giving him a ride from Studio City to Glendale, police said Tuesday.

Sevada Bandari, 30, of Glendale, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday, according to Glendale police Sgt. Robert William.

The driver picked up Bandari about 2 that morning near the intersection of Moorpark Street and Van Nuys Boulevard and began driving him to an address in Glendale, according to William.

"During this time, the suspect groped the victim multiple times over her clothing,'' the sergeant alleged. "Despite being told to stop, he continued.''

Once at the man's destination in the 1300 block of Irving Avenue in Glendale, the woman called 911 and reported the alleged attack.

The suspect was located at "a small house party on Irving Avenue,'' William said. and taken into custody on suspicion of sexual battery.

Bandari posted bail later Saturday and is due in court on Jan. 5, William said.

Anyone with additional information on the incident or any other similar cases that might involve Bandari was urged to call the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4911.
