Streets flooded after water main breaks in Reseda

Crews from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power were working to repair two broken water mains in Reseda Wednesday, a utility spokeswoman said.

A report of street flooding and pavement disruption at 18740 Cohasset St. was called in to the Los Angeles Fire Department about 4 p.m., spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

Firefighters responded to the area and then notified the LADWP, Humphrey said.

"We know it's a six-inch pipe that broke,'' said utility spokeswoman Kim Hughes. She said 41 customers were impacted.

Crews were still making repairs late Wednesday night, according to Hughes. The intersection of Cohasset Street and Rhea Avenue was closed for the repairs.

Hughes said LADWP workers were also responding to a burst pipe under the intersection of Sherman Way and Tampa Avenue. She said the LAFD notified the LADWP of that break at 9:48 p.m.
