Stabbing in Sherman Oaks leaves two adoptive fathers hospitalized; son in custody

A 21-year-old man is in custody Tuesday morning on suspicion he stabbed his adoptive fathers multiple times inside a Sherman Oaks home.

Police were called about 1 a.m. to the 4600 block of Burnet Avenue by the suspect, telling police he had just stabbed both of his parents, authorities said.

A second 911 call was also made by the victims locked in a bedroom who said their son had stabbed them with a pocket knife. Emergency responders found the suspects' parents with several stab wounds to the neck, according to Officer Norma Eisenman with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

Both were rushed to a hospital in serious condition, she said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
