WEST COVINA, Calif. (FOX 11) - Brides left in a panic after the bridal store Alfred Angelo closed abruptly are now receiving help. Local bridal shops and even good Samaritans are stepping up to make sure the brides still have the wedding of their dreams.
Anxiety was starting to set in for bride to be, Marisa Vivo.
"Last night all my friends and I were freaking out and we were all trying to find a dress," she told FOX 11.
After deciding on the perfect dress for her mother and bridesmaids, they are now scrambling to find replacements after the sudden closing of Alfred Angelo Bridal.
"I was so upset that I found out I paid full price for a dress that I wasn't going to receive. I'm only 20-years-old. I don't make a fortune," said bridesmaid Allison Walker.
However, after seeing our story -- Marisa's bridesmaids now don't have to worry about paying for new dresses.
Tony Jakstis of Casa De Lago Events in Orange County is offering to foot the bill.
"We just took it upon ourselves here at Casa De Lago Events how we could lend a helping hand and contribute in any way shape or form," Jakstis said.
He's not the only one stepping up to make sure the women affected by the closing still have their perfect day.
Mecca Deyas, owner of One Night Affair, is offering her designer bridal gown and evening gown rentals for $100 to $500, deeply discounted prices to Alfred Angelo customers. Even David's Bridal posted a special deal on its website.
For Marisa and her mother, the outpouring of support is unbelievable, and it helps to take away the stress of what is supposed to be an exciting time.
"These girls have a little ray of hope that it's not going to be double the cost that it was before," said Marisa's mother, Rachel.
"To hear people actually care and wants to help us, especially for my friends, it just makes me so grateful," Marisa said.
We've received numerous calls from people who also want to help by either donating dresses or paying for them.
The owner of Renee Jon Designs Bridal and Formal in Chino Hills is offering to help brides with alterations and discounts off of her dresses. Saint-Carlé Bridal Suite in Monrovia said Alfred Angelo brides with a valid receipt will receive discounts. Even Josh Markowits, of Ophir Management, who manages West Covina Plaza where an Alfred Angelo store was located, is offering to help brides who purchased dresses at that location.
Alfred Angelo brides with questions about their order are told to email Patricia Redmond at email@example.com.
