Search underway for armed robber who held up Burbank Walgreens

BURBANK, Calif. (FOX 11) - Police on Monday were searching for an armed robber who held up a Walgreens in Burbank.

The robbery was reported at about 3:45 a.m. at the Walgreens located at the corner of San Fernando Road and Alameda Avenue.

Officers from both cities began canvasing the area for the suspect who was last seen running down the alley between Trader Joe's & Walgreens.

The suspect was described as an African American male in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie and a scarf. Police said he used a black semi-automatic handgun to steal an undisclosed amount of cash from the store.

No injuries were reported.
