Search continues for missing hikers in Joshua Tree despite excessive heat

The search continues for a young couple missing in Joshua Tree, since last week, but rescue teams admit that hopes for finding the two alive are slowly dimming.

21-year-old Joseph Orbeso from Lakewood and 20-year-old Rachel Nguen from Westminster left a bed and breakfast to go hiking last Friday.

They're in good shape -- and are experienced hikers, but they are facing triple digit heat and monsoonal humidity.

Over the weekend, up to 100 trackers and two helicopters were sent in and more than two dozen searchers are still out.

So far they've only found their car -- which was parked near The Maze Loop.
