Ron Robinson celebrates #GivingTuesday in Santa Monica

Did you know Marilyn Monroe had a Pekinese dog? True! It's one of a number of famous photos on display at Ron Robinson in Santa Monica.

The twosome was photographed by Milton Greene. If you wanted to buy it, a copy would run about $8,000 framed.

How would you like a big photo of the Beatles on horseback hanging over your fireplace? You could have one for a mere $3,500. It was taken in 1964 when John, Paul, George and Ringo were touring the US for the first time.

Whether presented as sound walls or fine art prints, when it comes to the famous and their best friends, what's now on display at Ron Robinson is some of the best of the best. The new art show showcasing photos of Neil Young, Frank Zappa and many others had it's opening Tuesday.

It wasn't just any Tuesday, though. It was #GivingTuesday.

The show, presented by Morrison Hotel Galleries, was designed to start on "Giving Tuesday" so owner Peter Blachley and his partner could make it a fundraiser for at-risk animals.

Blatchley's wife, Susan, is the founder of Rational Animal. The group aims to raise awareness of the need to rescue and foster the many animals that don't have homes.

Peter Blachley says in this "giving" season of Hanukkah and Christmas, #GivingTuesday has a special purpose. It's to give to those who otherwise might not get.

"This is special giving," he says.
