Residents return to dorms after bomb threat at UCLA recreation center

Residents from several UCLA residence halls were returning to their dorms early Thursday following a phoned-in bomb threat that prompted evacuations.

UCLA officials took to Twitter just after 10 p.m. Wednesday to instruct residents in UCLA housing to evacuate to Drake Stadium for an unspecified emergency and asked people to share the information.

The threat was for the campus' Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, according to UCLA.

Photos from the scene showed thousands of residents pouring into Drake Stadium Wednesday night.

No injuries have been reported and UCLA officials deemed all evacuees safe and secure just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Shortly after 12:20 a.m. Thursday, the campus was given the all clear and all residents were allowed to returned to their dorms.

Details of the emergency were not immediately available.
