Porch pirates strike twice at same home despite security system

Security video captures a man drive up to a Chino home just after 6:20 in the morning. He walks up the driveway to the front porch where another camera angle shows him swing his arm like he’s about to knock, instead he reaches down and nabs several packages, then casually walks away.
“I felt violated that somebody would come onto my property just to take some possession that have no meaning to them,” homeowner, Carrie Urrea, said.
Urrea and her husband Gilbert Urrea sat on their front porch Friday and explained where that theft happened back in July.
Their home is under 24 hour surveillance and equipped with three security cameras, but that didn’t scare the bold thief who seems to look right into the camera before stealing.
“I thought installing them ok they’re going to see them it will be a deterrent,” Gilbert Urrea said. “No, it’s not a deterrent.”
And that proved true earlier this month when the couple was hit again.
On October 5th their security system caught a man driving what the couple believes is a silver Lexus.
He opens the door to a truck parked in the couple’s driveway and walks away with a GPS and tool box in hand.
“My first reaction is it’s the same guy because he was dressed the same, blue shirt, pants and even the shoes have the white bottoms on it,” Urrea said.
But after a closer look, Gilbert said he realized it was two different people and he said the cops think so too.
He posted both videos on a neighborhood watch website hoping someone would recognize the men or their cars, but he hasn’t had any luck.
“It got a lot of views about 187,000, but nobody ever came forward,” he said.
The couple wants the men caught for fear they could strike again and possibly do something much worse.
“Is it only going to be theft?” Carrie questioned. “Or is it going to go into breaking into our house or a confrontation with us or any of our neighbors?”
The couple wants to warn others especially during the holiday shopping season to have packages delivered when someone is home or to a secure location like the post office or workplace.
