Police seek armed suspect in OC gas station robberies

Police are looking for a male suspect with dark clothing who they believe robbed two gas stations within 4 miles of each other Sunday night in Santa Ana.

The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, walked into a Santa Ana Shell Gas Station at 2641 N. Bristol St. shortly before 11 p.m. and stole an unknown amount of cash, said Sgt. Mauricio Estrada of the Santa Ana Police Department.

At about 11:10 p.m., a second robbery occurred at a USA Gas Station at 2730 W. McFadden Ave., by a man also armed with a handgun whose description was similar to the suspect in the Shell robbery, Estrada said.

In the second incident, a woman was seen in a dark-colored vehicle driving away with the robbery suspect, he said.

No injuries were reported.
