(FOX 11/CNS) - A suspect who held police at bay Thursday in the pool area of a Canoga Park apartment complex was taken into custody after a more than four-hour standoff.
Officers went to the 7500 block of Vassar Avenue about 11:20 a.m. on a report that a possibly armed man was near the outdoor pool, said Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im.
The suspect did not cooperate with officers and a SWAT team and crisis negotiators were sent to the scene.
The man, who stood at times holding a patio chair over his head, was taken into custody about 3:50 p.m.
Officers searched the area, but it was not immediately clear if any weapon was recovered.
