Paraglider rescued from Angeles National Forest after becoming trapped on hillside

A Los Angeles County Fire Department Air Operations team successfully rescued a paraglider that became stranded on a steep hillside above Sylmar.

The paraglider crash-landed east of the Pacoima Reservoir, on the side of Kagel Mountain, in the Angeles National Forest, the L.A. Fire Department said.

The incident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The paraglider was successfully hoisted up into a paramedic helicopter that flew him to the hospital for medical treatment. It's unknown what injuries, if any, the paraglider suffered.

The paraglider was not immediately identified. Fire officials say he will be OK.
