Overturned big rig, spill closes downtown 110/10 freeway connector

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - A big rig crashed this morning on the collector road from the Harbor (110) Freeway to the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Exposition Park area, but no one was seriously injured, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash took place about 12:45 a.m. and the big rig overturned, ending up blocking the eastbound and westbound transition road from the 10 freeway to the southbound 110, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said. The collector road
runs parallel to the main road, he said.

The truck driver apparently suffered minor injuries in the crash but was not transported to the hospital, according to the CHP.

A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 1:06 a.m. The road will remain closed until at least 7 a.m., according to the CHP. The shutdown is expected to snarl traffic there through the morning rush hour.
