Operation Gown Giveaway: military brides get free wedding dresses

Air Force veteran Marilyn Pool is sporting some new bling. She just got engaged last month. Now the wedding planning begins...starting with the search for a perfect dress.

She says, "from the venue to the all the things that are involved, I can't believe how much everything costs. So when I heard about this it brought tears to my eyes."

As a thank you for her service to the country, on this Veterans Day military brides are getting free wedding dresses from participating bridal boutiques across the nation.

Alfred Angelo bridal boutique district manager Nedra Flansburg says, "This is just a small token for their service and what they do for us everyday. And it amounts to a couple of thousand dollars in savings for these brides."

Sparkles, lace, flowers and bows. These brides had their pick, hoping to find the gown of their dreams.

Lenee Willis is marrying her US Navy fiancee in February and wasn't having luck finding the right gown for the right price.

Today, that all changed.

Willis says, "I can't believe it. I'm walking out with a beautiful dress that's just perfect."

Mission accomplished for Operation gown giveaway.
